XL Group plc ("XL" or the "Company") (NYSE: XL) announced today that the Board of Directors of the Company (the "Board") approved a new share buyback program, authorizing the Company to buy back up to $1 billion of its ordinary shares. The previous share buyback program, which had approximately $204.1 million remaining, was canceled.
XL Fleet is a provider of fleet electrification solutions for commercial vehicles in North America, providing its systems for vehicle electrification (its Power Drive business) and through its energy efficiency and infrastructure solutions business, including charging stations to enable customers to plug in their electrified vehicles (its XL Grid business). Co.'s XL Grid energy efficiency and infrastructure services business is primarily project driven where it identifies efficiency measures and infrastructure enhancements that commercial and municipal customers can implement to improve efficiency and expand capacity for fleet electrification.
