Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) has completed the acquisition of Delcam, one of the world's leading suppliers of advanced computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. Autodesk announced its intent to acquire Delcam on November 7, 2013 for 20.75 per share or approximately 172.5 million (~USD $286 Million), using non-U.S.-based cash. Delcam will operate as a wholly owned, independently operated subsidiary of Autodesk, with no significant changes planned for Delcam's business.
Autodesk is a design software and services company. Co. is engaged in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software and services. Co.'s product offerings include: AutoCAD Civil 3D, which provides surveying, design, analysis, and documentation solution for civil engineering; AutoCAD, which is a customizable and extensible CAD application for design, drafting, detailing, and visualization; Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) Solutions, which is a CAM software that provides solutions for Computer Numeric Control machining, inspection, and modeling for manufacturing; and Inventor, which provides tools for 3D mechanical design, simulation, analysis, tooling, visualization, and documentation.
