VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, today announced it has completed its acquisition of AirWatch, the leading provider of enterprise mobile management and security solutions. Originally announced on Jan. 22, 2014, VMware acquired AirWatch for approximately $1.181B in cash and approximately $364M of installment payments and assumed unvested equity.
VMware is engaged in the development and application of virtualization technologies with x86 server-based computing, separating application software from the underlying hardware. Co.'s products and technology solutions include: Multi-Cloud, which provides infrastructure products and services to create a common operating environment based on VMware Cloud Foundation; Virtual Cloud Network, which provides a portfolio of Layer 2-7 virtual networking and security solutions; Digital Workspace, which deliver access to applications and data; Application Modernization, which enables customers to build, run and manage modern applications; and Intrinsic Security, which utilize the infrastructure.
