Brightcove Inc. (NASDAQ:BCOV), a leading global provider of cloud services for video, today announced it has completed its acquisition of Unicorn Media, a leading provider of cloud video ad insertion technology. On January 6, 2014, Brightcove announced the signing of its definitive agreement to acquire Unicorn Media for approximately $49 million. Under the terms of the agreement, the purchase price consists of 2,850,547 shares of Brightcove stock and approximately $9.1 million of cash used to pay transaction and other expenses of Unicorn Media.
Brightcove is a provider of cloud-based services for video. Co.'s main video products include: Brightcove Video Cloud™, which is an online video platform to publish and distribute video to Internet-connected devices; Brightcove Live™, which is a live streaming solution; Brightcove Beacon™, a purpose-built app that enables its customers to launch over-the-top video experiences; Brightcove Player™, which provides video player technology with a cloud-based service for creating and managing video player experiences; and Zencoder®, a cloud-based video encoding service. Co.'s video solutions include Virtual Events Experience™, Brightcove Video Marketing Suite™, Brightcove Enterprise Video Suite™.
