BBVA has agreed to acquire Simple, a US-based company that has created a new standard in digital banking. The acquisition is part of BBVA's strategy to lead the technology-driven change that is transforming the financial services industry. The transaction values Simple at $117 million.
Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria is engaged in retail banking, asset management, private banking and wholesale banking. Co.'s operating segments including: Spain, which includes mainly the banking and insurance business that Co. carries out in Spain; The United States, which includes the business activity of BBVA USA, comprising Co.'s wholesale business through the New York branch, the stake in Propel Venture Partners and the business developed through its broker dealer BBVA Securities Inc.; Mexico, which includes banking and insurance businesses in this country as well as the activity of BBVA Mexico in Houston; and Turkey, which includes the activity of Garanti BBVA group.
