Home Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: HBCP), the holding company of the 105-year-old Home Bank (www.home24bank.com) announced the completion of its acquisition of Britton & Koontz Capital Corporation (OTCQB: BKBK) ("Britton & Koontz"), the holding company of the 147-year-old Britton & Koontz Bank, N.A. ("Britton & Koontz Bank"). The combined company has total assets of approximately $1.2 billion, $870 million in loans and $960 million in deposits.
Home Bancorp is a bank holding company. Through its subsidiary, Home Bank, N.A. (the Bank), Co. is primarily engaged in accepting deposits from the general public and using those funds to invest in loans and securities. Co.'s principal sources of funds are primarily used for the origination of loans, including one-to four-family first mortgage loans, home equity loans and lines, commercial real estate loans, construction and land loans, multi-family residential loans, commercial and industrial loans and consumer loans. Co. provides a variety of deposit accounts with a range of interest rates and terms, including: checking, both interest-bearing and noninterest-bearing, and money market.
