First Interstate BancSystem, Inc. (NASDAQ:FIBK)("First Interstate"), parent company of First Interstate Bank, and Mountain West Financial Corp. (OTCBB:MTWF)("Mountain West"), parent company of Mountain West Bank, National Association announced today that First Interstate has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Helena-based Mountain West. With assets of $647 million, as of September 30, 2013, Mountain West Bank currently operates 12 branches throughout central and western Montana in Helena, Great Falls, Missoula, Kalispell, Whitefish, and Bozeman.
First Interstate BancSystem is a financial and bank holding company. Through its bank subsidiary, First Interstate Bank, Co. delivers a range of banking products and services to individuals, businesses, municipalities, and other entities throughout its market areas. Co. provides real estate, consumer, commercial, agricultural, and other loans to individuals and businesses in its market areas. Co. also provides depository products including checking, savings and time deposits, as well as wealth management including a range of trust, employee benefit, investment management, insurance, agency, and custodial services to individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
