ICON plc, (NASDAQ:ICLR) (ISIN:IE0005711209), a global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, today announced that it has agreed, subject to certain closing conditions, to acquire the Clinical Trial Services Division of Cross Country Healthcare, Inc. (NASDAQ:CCRN), for a cash consideration of $52 million, plus an earn-out of up to $3.75 million related to certain performance-based milestones. The transaction is expected to close within the next 30 days.
ICON provides outsourced development and commercialization services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and government and public health organizations. Co. provides a range of clinical, consulting and commercial services ranging from clinical development strategy, planning and trial design, to full study execution, and post-market commercialization. Co. provides its services across a range of clinical outsourcing operating models including strategic partnerships, preferred provider, full-service delivery to functional service provision and stand-alone services. Co. focuses on development, management and analysis of programs that support clinical development process.
