Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. (TSX: MBT), today announced it has acquired EPIC Information Solutions, a Winnipeg-based company that provides IT infrastructure and managed services to approximately 700 businesses across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. By acquiring EPIC, MTS expands its ability to offer Manitoba businesses the most comprehensive suite of IP communications services in the province, including voice, data, wireless and now IT infrastructure services.
Manitoba Telecom Services is a national communication solutions company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. provides communications for the way Canadians live and work today through its MTS division and Allstream division. MTS provides wireless, broadband Internet and data, digital television, wireline voice services, and security and alarm monitoring services to residential and business customers in Manitoba. Allstream provides Internet protocol-based communications, unified communications, voice and data connectivity, and security services to business customers in Canada. As of Dec 31 2010, Co. had 483,754 cellular customers, 202,081 internet customers and 89,967 digital television customers.
