Details: FireEye (Nasdaq:FEYE), the leader in stopping today's advanced cyber attacks, announced today that it has acquired privately held Mandiant, the leading provider of advanced endpoint security products and security incident response management solutions. The acquisition, which recognizes the ever-increasing intensity of cyber attacks and follows nearly two years of collaboration, creates the industry's leading advanced threat protection vendor with the ability to find and stop attacks at every stage of the attack life cycle. The transaction closed on December 30, 2013.

FireEye provides cybersecurity solutions that allow organizations to prepare for, prevent, respond to and remediate cyber attacks. Co.'s portfolio of cybersecurity products and services is designed to detect and prevent attacks as well as enable discovery and response when a breach occurs. Co.'s threat detection and prevention products encompass appliance-based, virtual and cloud solutions for web, email and endpoint attack vectors, and provide defense against known and unknown attacks. These products are complemented by Co.'s network forensics, cloud-based intelligence and analytics, managed security services, cybersecurity consulting and incident response offerings.
