Tech Data Corporation announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire the shares of several distribution companies belonging to Specialist Distribution Group (SDG), the distribution arm of Specialist Computer Holdings (SCH), a privately-held IT services company headquartered in the UK. SDG is a leading value-added distributor of enterprise-focused IT products in the UK, France and the Netherlands. The transactions are subject to approval of the EU regulatory authorities and are expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of fiscal 2013.
Tech Data is an IT distribution and solutions company. Co.'s customers include resellers, direct marketers, retailers, corporate resellers and managed service providers. Co. groups its offerings into the following primary solutions portfolios: Endpoint Solutions Portfolio, which includes PC systems, mobile phones and accessories, printers, peripherals, supplies, endpoint technology software and consumer electronics; and Advanced Solutions Portfolio, which includes data center technologies such as storage, networking, servers, other technology software and converged and hyper-converged infrastructure. Co.'s Advanced Solutions portfolio also includes its other solution businesses.
