Beacon Roofing Supply, Inc. announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire McClure-Johnston Company, a distributor of residential and commercial roofing products and related accessories headquartered in the Pittsburgh suburb of Braddock, Pa. Founded in 1914, McClure-Johnston has 14 locations with eight in Pennsylvania, three in West Virginia, one in Western Maryland and two in Georgia. Annual sales are approximately $85 million. Closing on the transaction is expected on or before November 1, 2012, and is to occur simultaneously with the execution of a definitive purchase agreement.
Beacon Roofing Supply is a distributor of residential and non-residential roofing materials and complementary building products in the U.S. and Canada. Co. operates its business primarily under the trade name Beacon Building Products. Co. provides assortments of branded products in the industry. Co. provides the digital offering in building products distribution. Beacon PRO+ is Co.'s proprietary digital account management suite which allows customers to manage their business with it online, and Beacon 3D+ is its roofing estimating tool for its residential customers. Co. invests resources in development, management skills, product knowledge, and operational proficiency.
