Assets of C3
Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today that it has acquired the assets of privately-held C3 of Madison, Wis. The acquisition will enable Trimble to provide unique soil information as well as decision recommendations to farmers' trusted advisorssuch as agronomists, Trimble resellers or Ag retail suppliers. Farmers will be able to view the C3 data and recommendations from their trusted advisor on the Connected Farm dashboard, a Web portal that provides one centralized location for farmers to view key information impacting their operations. To align with Trimble's brand agnostic strategy, the data can be applied to all manufacturer equipment types. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Trimble provides technology solutions to various industries including agriculture, architecture, civil engineering, construction, and geospatial. Co.'s segments are: Buildings and Infrastructure, which are focused on building construction and civil engineering and construction; Geospatial, which are focused on building construction and civil engineering and construction; Resources and Utilities, which consist of guidance and positioning systems, automated and variable-rate application and technology systems, and information management solutions; and Transportation, which provides a fleet and transportation management, analytics, routing, mapping, reporting, and predictive modeling solution.
