BNC Bancorp (NASDAQ: BNCN), the parent company of Bank of North Carolina ("BNC" or "the Bank"), today announced the successful completion of its merger with South Street Financial Corp. ("South Street"), the parent company of Home Savings Bank of Albemarle, Inc. SSB ("Home Savings"), thereby expanding BNC's presence in Stanly and Montgomery Counties in the Charlotte, North Carolina Metropolitan Area.
BNC Bancorp is a bank holding company. Through its subsidiary, Bank of North Carolina (the Bank), Co. provides a range of banking services. Co. is mainly engaged in accepting deposits from the general public and using those deposits, together with other funding from its lines of credit, to make primarily consumer and commercial loans. Co. also provides other banking services, including products such as checking and savings accounts. At Dec 31 2016, Co., through the Bank, operated 76 banking offices, including 41 branches in North Carolina, 26 branches in South Carolina and nine branches in Virginia. At Dec 31 2016, Co. had total assets of $7.40 billion and total deposits of $6.08 billion.
