Amira Nature Foods Ltd (the "Company") (NYSE:ANFI), a leading global provider of packaged Indian specialty rice, today closed the previously announced acquisition of Basmati Rice GmbH, a specialty distributor of premium branded rice, particularly Basmati rice in Germany.
Amira Nature Foods is a global provider of packaged Indian specialty rice, with sales in over 60 countries. Co. is predominately engaged in the sale of Basmati rice, a premium long-grain rice grown only in certain regions of the Indian sub-continent, under its flagship Amira brand as well as under other third party brands. Co. sells its products, primarily in emerging markets, through a broad distribution network, in more than 40 countries. Co. sells its Amira branded products to Indian retailers such as ASDA, Bharti Big Bazaar, Carrefour, Costco, easyday, EDEKA, HEB, Jetro Restaurant Depot, Kaufland, Metro Cash & Carry, Morrison's, Publix, REWE, Spencer's, Tesco and Waitrose.
