Details: Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. announced that it has closed the previously announced acquisition of the commercial egg production and related assets of Maxim Production Co., Inc. The assets purchased by Cal-Maine Foods include a feed mill and two production complexes with capacity for approximately 3.5 million laying hens with related pullet capacity, all located near Boling, Texas. In addition, the acquisition includes contract capacity for approximately 500,000 laying hens near Gonzalez, Texas.

Cal-Maine Foods is a producer and distributor of shell eggs in the U.S. Co. sells majority of its shell eggs in the southwestern, southeastern, mid-western and mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S. Co. is engaged the production, grading, packaging, marketing and distribution of shell eggs. Co.'s operations consist of hatching chicks, growing and maintaining flocks of pullets, layers and breeders,manufacturing feed, and producing, processing, packaging, and distributing shell eggs.
