Details: Thermo Fisher Scientific (NYSE:TMO), the world leader in serving science, today announced that it has completed the sale of its cell culture (sera and media), gene modulation and magnetic beads businesses to GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), for $1.065 billion. The businesses will become part of GE Healthcare's Life Sciences division.

Co.'s segments include: Power, which serves power generation, industrial, government and other customers with products and services related to energy production; Renewable Energy, which makes renewable power sources; Aviation, which designs and produces commercial and military aircraft engines, digital components, electric power and mechanical aircraft systems; Oil and Gas, which provides a mix of oilfield products, services and digital solutions; Healthcare, which provides healthcare technologies; Transportation, which is a supplier to the railroad and marine industries; and Lighting, which focuses on consumer lighting applications.
