Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has completed its acquisition of Fjord, a London-based global service design consultancy that specializes in creating wide-ranging digital experiences and services for consumers - including new ways to shop, better ways to communicate and collaborate, and innovative ways to manage their health - across platforms including smart devices, tablets and PCs. The acquisition was first announced May 7.
Accenture is a services company. Co.'s operating groups are: Communications, Media and Technology, which serves communications, media, high tech, software and platform companies; Financial Services, which serves the banking, capital markets and insurance industries; Health and Public Service, which serves healthcare payers and providers, government departments and agencies, public service organizations, educational institutions and non-profit organizations; Products, which serves a set of interconnected consumer-relevant industries such as life sciences; and Resources, which serves the chemicals, energy, forest products, metals and mining, utilities and related industries.
