Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ:GNTX)
Gentex Corporation, (NASDAQ: GNTX), the Zeeland, Michigan-based manufacturer of automotive automatic-dimming rearview mirrors, automotive electronics, dimmable aircraft windows, and fire protection products, has completed the previously announced acquisition of Johnson Controls' HomeLink business. The acquisition was completed on September 27, 2013.
Gentex designs, develops, manufactures, markets, and supplies digital vision, connected car, dimmable glass, and fire protection products. Co. has two segments: Automotive Products, which includes automotive rearview mirrors and electronics that manufactures interior electrochromic automatic-dimming rearview mirrors that darken to reduce glare and improve visibility for the driver; and Other, in which Co. manufactures photoelectric smoke detectors and alarms, visual signaling alarms, electrochemical carbon monoxide alarms, audible and visual signaling alarms, and bells and speakers for use in fire detection systems in office buildings, hotels, and other commercial and residential buildings.
