The Dixie Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:DXYN) today announced that it is in negotiations to acquire Robertex Associates, Inc. from Bob Rothman. Dixie's intention is to purchase Robertex and retain Mr. Rothman's services under a five-year contract. The acquisition would allow Dixie to enhance its position in the wool markets with the addition of the Robertex and Carousel product lines. Dixie and Mr. Rothman hope to close by the end of the month.
Dixie Group markets, manufactures and sells finished carpet, rugs, vinyl flooring and engineered wood flooring in the domestic floorcovering market. Co.'s brands include: Fabrica, which markets and manufactures residential carpet, custom rugs, and engineered wood; Masland Residential, which markets and manufactures design-driven carpets and rugs for the residential marketplace, and provides vinyl flooring products to the marketplace it serves; and Dixie Home, which markets an array of residential tufted broadloom carpet and rugs to selected retailers and home centers under the Dixie Home and private label brands, and provides vinyl flooring products to the marketplace it serves.
