Details: UFP Technologies, Inc., a manufacturer of packaging and specialty component products, today announced the acquisition of Packaging Alternatives Corporation ("PAC"). Founded in 1977 and located in Costa Mesa, California, PAC is a full service designer, converter, and distributor of foam plastic products, specializing in technical polyurethane foams principally for the medical market. Sales in 2011 were approximately $10 million.

UFP Technologies is a designer and custom manufacturer of components, subassemblies, products and packaging utilizing foams, films, and plastics mainly for the medical market. Co.'s products targeted to specific markets include: Medical, which includes single patient use surfaces, wound care and infection prevention; Automotive, which includes load floors and driveshaft damping; Aerospace, which focuses on specialty foam (PVDF) tubing; Defense, which includes knee and elbow pads, eyewear, and helmets; Consumer and Electronic Packaging, which focuses on electronics, candles, wine, and other products; and Specialty Case Solutions, which includes military equipment and commercial electronics.
