Details:
Metalico, Inc., (NYSE MKT: MEA) a leading recycler in the Great Lakes corridor, has closed its previously announced acquisition of the assets of Segel & Son., Inc., a family-owned scrap iron and metal recycling business for nearly 100 years with facilities in Warren, Pennsylvania and Olean, New York. Terms were not disclosed.
Metalico operates in two business segments: scrap metal recycling (Scrap Metal Recycling) and lead metal product fabricating (Lead Fabricating). Co.'s Scrap Metal Recycling operations primarily involve the collection and processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Co. collects industrial and obsolete scrap metal, process it into reusable forms and supply the recycled metals to its consumers that include electric arc furnace mills, integrated steel mills, foundries, secondary smelters, aluminum recyclers and metal brokers. Co.'s lead fabricating sales are concentrated within five main product lines: sheet lead, shot, extruded strip lead, machined lead parts and cast lead.
