EPL Oil & Gas, Inc. (NYSE:EPL) (EPL or the Company) today announced it has executed a purchase and sale agreement to acquire oil and natural gas assets in the shallow-water central Gulf of Mexico (GOM) from Nexen Petroleum Offshore U.S.A. Inc. for $70.4 million.
EPL Oil & Gas is an oil and natural gas exploration and production company. Co.'s operations are concentrated in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico shelf focusing on state and federal waters offshore Louisiana. As of Dec 31 2012, Co. had estimated proved reserves of 77.4 million barrels of oil equivalent, of which 61.0% were oil and 75.0% were proved developed.
