Trina Solar Limited ("Trina Solar" or the "Company"), a global leader in photovoltaic ("PV") modules, solutions, and services, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Shenzhen S.C. New Energy Technology Corporation ("Shenzhen S.C."), a leading solar equipment manufacturer, to acquire a majority stake in Shenzhen S.C.'s wholly-owned subsidiary, Hubei Hongyuan PV Science and Technology Co., Ltd., ("Hubei Hongyuan"), a specialized PV cell producer located in Xiantao, Hubei Province.
Trina Solar is an integrated solar power products manufacturer and solar system developer based in China with a global distribution network covering Europe, Asia, North America, Australia and Africa. Co. has integrated the manufacturing of ingots, wafers and solar cells for use in its PV module production. Co.'s PV modules provide reliable and environmentally-friendly electric power for residential, commercial, industrial and other applications worldwide. Co. also develops, designs, constructs, operates and sells solar power projects that primarily use the solar modules Co. manufacture. Co. has two reportable operating segments: manufacturing and solar power projects.
