Expansion into the fingerprint identification market, with the acquisition of a world class Validity team that delivers industry-leading solutions, is an integral part of Synaptics' growth strategy as it immediately expands the depth and breadth of solutions available to its global partners.

Synaptics develops and supplies custom-designed semiconductor solutions that enable people to interact with a variety of mobile computing, communications, entertainment, and other electronic devices. Co. targets the markets for Internet of Things products, which include smart devices with voice, speech, video, wireless connectivity, smartphones, tablets, personal computer, or PC, products, and other select electronic devices, including devices in automobiles. Co. delivers semiconductor solutions including connectivity products, audio input and output System-On-Chips, or SoCs, high-definition video and vision SoCs, touch controllers, display drivers, fingerprint sensors, and touchpads.
