Cascade Microtech, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCD), a leader at enabling precision measurements of integrated circuits at the wafer level, announced that it has acquired the ReliabilityTest Products (RTP) business of Aetrium Incorporated, a U.S. public company. The RTP business specializes in package- and wafer-level reliability (WLR) solutions for wafer process technologies; the product line strengthens Cascade Microtech's position as a worldwide leader in the design, development and manufacture of advanced wafer probing solutions for the electrical measurement and test of semiconductor integrated circuits. The acquisition is closely aligned with the Company's strategy of delivering Integrated Measurement Solutions that address emerging requirements at advanced semiconductor nodes.
Cascade Microtech designs, develops, manufactures and markets wafer probing, thermal and reliability solutions for the electrical measurement and testing of semiconductor devices. Co.'s products enable precision on-wafer measurement of integrated circuits and are used in the early phases of the development of semiconductor processes. Co.'s products are also used in production applications to test semiconductor devices prior to completion of the manufacturing process. Co. has two segments. Sales of probe stations, thermal subsystems and reliability test systems are included in Co.'s Systems segment and sales of analytical probes and production probe cards are included in its Probes segment.
