ASML Holding NV (ASML)(NASDAQ:ASML) (Amsterdam:ASML) and Cymer, Inc. (NASDAQ:CYMI) today announce that the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) has cleared the previously announced merger between Cymer and affiliates of ASML.
ASML Holding is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. provides chipmakers with hardware, software and services to mass produce patterns on silicon with the possible level of fidelity, Co. calls this holistic lithography. Co.'s main operations are in Europe, North America and Asia. Co. has one reportable segment, for the development, production, marketing, sales, upgrading and servicing of semiconductor equipment systems, consisting of lithography, metrology and inspection systems.
