Corus Entertainment Inc. (TSX: CJR.B) received clearance from the Competition Bureau, with the issuance of the appropriate no action letter, to proceed with the transactions between Corus and Bell. Pursuant to these transactions, Corus will acquire the 50% remaining ownership interest in TELETOON which includes the services TELETOON, Tltoon (French), TELETOON Retro, Tltoon Rtro (French) and Cartoon Network (Canada), as well as the 50% ownership interests in the French-language specialty channels, Historia and Sries+, that Bell will acquire as part of the acquisition of Astral Media Inc.
Corus Entertainment is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. is engaged in providing media and content. Co. operates through two operating segments: Television and Radio. The Television segment is comprised of television networks, television stations, digital assets, a social media digital agency, a social media creator network, technology and media services, and the Corus content business, which includes the production and distribution of films and television programs, merchandise licensing, book publishing, and animation software. The Radio segment is comprised of radio stations across Canada situated primarily in urban centers in English Canada.
