DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (Nasdaq: DWA) today announced that it has agreed to acquire AwesomenessTV, one of the most subscribed-to teen networks on YouTube. This groundbreaking deal recognizes the growing value of digital content creation and consumption.
DreamWorks Animation SKG is engaged in the development, production and exploitation of animated feature films and their associated characters in the theatrical, home entertainment, digital, television, merchandising and licensing and other markets. Co. retains all other rights to exploit its films, including commercial tie-in and promotional rights with respect to each film, as well as merchandising, interactive, literary publishing, music publishing and soundtrack rights. In addition, Co. is engaged in development and production of non-theatrical content such as television series and specials and live performances based on characters from its feature films.
