Companhia Paranaense de Energia is an electric power public services grantee controlled by the state of Parana. Co. is engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity, as well as telecommunications and other services. Co. transfers electricity from power plants to customers through generating facilities to the distribution system by means of the Interconnected Transmission System, in tension greater than or equal to 230 kV. Co. provides services to most of the major Brazilian telecommunication companies that operate in the State of Parana. Also, Co. is engaged in the distribution of natural gas through Companhia Paranaense de Gas.
