Icahn Enterprises is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. is engaged in the following operating businesses: Investment, which is comprised of various private investment funds in which it has general partner interests and through which it invests its proprietary capital; Energy, which engages in the petroleum refining and nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing businesses through its holdings in CVR Refining, LP and CVR Partners, LP; Automotive, which invests in and operates businesses involved in automotive repair and maintenance services; and Food Packaging, which produces cellulosic, fibrous and plastic casings used to prepare and package processed meat products.
