Guardian Capital Group Limited ("Guardian") (TSX:GCG)(TSX:GCG.A) announced today that it has completed the acquisition of London, UK-based Zephyr Management U.K. Limited ("Zephyr"). The acquisition adds emerging markets equity investment capabilities and provides Guardian an international platform in a key global financial centre to expand its asset management business.
Guardian Capital Group is a financial services company. Co. operates in three main segments: the investment management segment which involves the earning of management fees relating to investment management services provided to clients; the financial advisory segment which relates to the earning of sales commissions and administrative services revenue from assets under administration; and corporate investments and activities segment which relates to the investment of Co.'s securities holdings, as well as corporate development activities. As of Dec 31 2009, Co.'s assets under management and the securities portfolio at fair value were C$16,266,000,000 and C$379,394,000, respectively.
