Details: Heritage Financial Corporation ("Heritage"), the parent company of Heritage Bank, announced that on May 1, 2014, it completed its previously announced merger with Washington Banking Company ("Washington Banking") and the merger of Whidbey Island Bank, the bank subsidiary of Washington Banking, into Heritage Bank.

Heritage Financial is a bank holding company. Co. is primarily engaged in the business of planning, directing, and coordinating the business activities of its wholly owned subsidiary, Heritage Bank (the Bank). Co.'s business consists primarily of commercial lending and deposit relationships with small and medium sized businesses and their owners in its market areas, and accepting deposits from the general public. Co. also makes real estate construction and land development loans and consumer loans. The Bank also originates for sale or investment purposes residential real estate loans on residential properties located primarily in Co.'s market.
