Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ:SWIR) (TSX:SW.CA) today announced it has entered into an agreement with AnyDATA Corporation and its subsidiaries to acquire substantially all of the assets of AnyDATA's machine-to-machine (M2M) embedded module and modem business. The transaction is expected to close by the end of this month.
Sierra Wireless is an Internet of Things (IoT) provider that empowers businesses and industries in the connected economy. Co. has two reportable segments: IoT Solutions and Embedded Broadband. The IoT Solutions segment is focused on integrated end-to-end IoT solutions that include recurring connectivity services, cloud management software, and cellular modules and gateways targeted primarily at enterprises and Original Equipment Manufacturers in the IoT space. The Embedded Broadband segment is comprised of Co.'s high-speed cellular embedded modules that are typically used in non-industrial applications, namely Automobile, Mobile Computing and Enterprise Networking markets.
