Celadon Group, Inc. (NYSE:CGI) today announced an agreement to acquire selected assets of N. Yanke Transfer Limited ("Yanke"), based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Yanke operates approximately 300 tractors, including more than 100 team expedited trucks, and generated approximately $90 million in revenue in 2012. The company comprises both domestic Canadian shipments and international shipments between Canada and the United States. Additional terms and conditions of the transaction were not disclosed.
Celadon Group provides truckload freight transportation. Co. has three segments: asset-based, asset-light, and equipment leasing and services. Co.'s primary asset based services include U.S. domestic dry van, refrigerated, and flatbed service; cross-border service between the U.S. and each of Mexico and Canada; intra-Mexico and intra-Canada service; dedicated contract service; regional short haul service; and rail intermodal service. In addition, Co.'s primary asset light services include freight brokerage, warehousing, less-than truckload consolidation, and supply chain logistics services, while its primary equipment leasing and services include tractor and trailer sales and leasing.
