(NYSE:BKS) today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized a new stock repurchase program of up to $50 million of its common shares, to be utilized at the Company's discretion. Stock repurchases under this program may be made through open market and privately negotiated transactions from time to time and in such amounts as management deems appropriate. The repurchase program has no expiration date and may be suspended or discontinued at any time.
Barnes & Noble is engaged in the sale of trade books, mass market paperbacks (such as mystery, romance, science fiction and other popular fiction), children's books, eBooks and other digital content, NOOK® and related accessories, bargain books, textbooks, magazines, gifts, cafe products and services, educational toys and games, music and movies direct to customers through its bookstores or on www.barnesandnoble.com. Co.'s segments are B&N Retail, which bookstores primarily under the Barnes & Noble Booksellers trade name; and NOOK, which represents Co.'s digital business, including digital content such as eBooks, digital newsstand and sales of NOOK® devices and accessories to B&N Retail.
