Fifth Street Finance Corp. (NASDAQ:FSC) ("Fifth Street") today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Healthcare Finance Group, LLC ("HFG") as a portfolio company. HFG is a specialty lender providing asset-based lending and term loan products to the healthcare industry. Since its founding, HFG has financed in excess of $21 billion in receivables.
Fifth Street Finance is a finance company that lends to and invests in small and mid-sized companies, primarily in connection with investments by private equity sponsors. Co. is externally managed and advised by Fifth Street Management LLC. Co.'s investments generally range in size from $10.0 million to $100.0 million and are principally in the form of first lien, second lien and subordinated debt investments that may also include an equity component. At Sep 30 2016, Co. had total assets of $2.35 billion.
